Thanks!

We had a great time at the Relay this weekend! Thanks Sara as always, for making us look so good with all your efforts and organization. Highlights for me this year...the water balloon war, the two bucket soaking of Lauren, the mini soccer game with Haley and Sydney, the magronas, the late night lawn chair rubber ball tourney, Ted's flatulants (courtesy of Zack!), the traditional Mtn Mike's run, (Thanks Riley for filling in for big bro Matt), watching the slide show with Ben, and of course the 24 hours of just being with our family. Thanks everybody!

Graduation Time

It is that time of year when many of us attend graduations.  We attended Ben's 8th grade graduation a few nights ago.  We were quite impressed with all the pomp and circumstance at  his 8th grade graduation.  There were 160 graduates.  Only 13 received awards for being on honor roll all 3 years.  Ben was one of these.  Only 8 received the President's award.  Ben was one of these.  He was also chosen along with one other boy and 5 girls to sing the Star Spangled Banner.  WAY TO GO BEN!!!   We are so proud of all your hard work!!!

GREAT NIGHT CELEBRATING 50 YEARS!!

What a wonderful evening we had celebrating Uncle Jim and Auntie Nini's 50th anniversary!  It was great to be there and see so many of you.  Lots of folks asked about the kids and since we only brought Kathryn, I thought I'd forward a recent photo.  Kathryn is 11 - soon to be a 7th grader, Jack is 7 - moving into 3rd grade and Maggie is 5 - soon to be a 1st grader (I can't believe she is no longer a Kindergartener!!)  Time flies so quickly!!  I hope to see you all again very soon!

Much love, Karyn

What a fabulous anniversary party the Duarte boys and wives put on for their parents!  For those not in attendance, it was like walking the red carpet to a hollywood awards party.  The elaborate hollywood decor set the mood for an exciting evening.  No wonder the attire was listed on the invite as semi-formal.  John (sans tie) said that he was not going to listen to his brothers any more (Leo and Bill) when they told him they were not wearing ties.  But their wives had a different idea in mind. After being there for a short time, John beelined it out to the car where he purposely brought a tie in case of emergency.

David Scheuber put together an excellent presentation with snapshots and video of Jim and Anita's life together over the past 50 years.  His clever way of interviewing them brought many laughs and tears with Anita remembering all the details and Jim having a vague idea of what transpired. The expressions on his face were amusing.  Great work nephew Dave, as usual.

All had a great time dining, dancing and socializing.  Another dazzling Duarte party!
