You Never Know What Mondays Bring!

Hello Everyone,

Just thought I’d let you know about a little excitement with Mom (Auntie Mary Jane).

Monday morning, about 3 a.m., she awoke to a burning sensation in her lower abdomen.  She didn’t think much of it until she felt the area and discovered a bit of a protrusion.  Fortunately, she was able to sleep and phoned her physician that morning.  His office directed her to Urgent Care where she was diagnosed with a hernia and sent to consult a surgeon.  The surgeon attempted to push it back into her abdominal cavity, but to no avail.  He scheduled her for emergency surgery that afternoon at 5:00 p.m.

The surgery was a success with no complications.  Mom was discharged around 10:00 p.m.  She awoke this morning feeling “better than I thought I would”.

As an aside, Memorial’s new North Tower Same Day Surgery Center is state-of-the-art!  And the nurses are wonderful.

Lots of love,

Lori

Happy Thanksgiving from Long Beach

Auntie Marge, thanks for the well wishes! We had a GREAT Thanksgiving last Saturday...am still savoring mom's apple pie. Mom and Dad and Uncle Bill (Mom's brother) and his son Thomas and new wife Abra, were here also along with Mike, Ashlee, McKenzee and all my girls. Here's a link with some pictures. Uh, didn't get a shot of the Turkey, was busy cooking...but we had one. Honest! Good Luck in the Hungry Run!

To Everyone: Hope all your feasts are fine!
