HAPPY,HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Bill / Papa Bill from your family. Enjoy your special day.

Traditional Swiss cow bells...

Swiss farmers have used bells on their cows for centurties, to decorate the lead cow, to comfort and calm the animals and to help the farmer to locate his herd. Originally the bells were also said to help ward of evil spirits.

THANKSGIVING TRADITION

The JRScheubers and the Peffermans started a family tradition last year and hope to continue in the years to come.  Unfortunately because of the surgeries with Ted Sr. and John, they were not able to participate physically, only as monetary donors.  So John and I dropped off Benjamin in Sacramento and headed to Rocklin to cook a ham and turkey for the crew.  The runners in the 5K were Heidi, Sarah, Ted, Jason and Benjamin.  The remainders: Mike and Sandi took the responsibility to walk with the little ones.  As one can imagine, they were Hungry after Running to feed the Hungry.  Hope all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Sandi asked the little ones at their dinner table to name one thing they were thankful for.  Little Taylor said, for her brother.  Wow!  Matt, bet you didn't know she admired you so!

CLAYTON T. COLEMAN AUG 18, 1929 - NOV 20, 2008 Clayton Thurston Coleman, age 79, of Oakdale, CA, passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto on November 20, 2008 after suffering a heart attack. Clayton was born to Dewey and Marie Coleman on August 18, 1929 in Riverbank, CA. He moved to Oakdale at the age of two where he resided his entire life. Clayton graduated from Oakdale High School in 1947 and attended College of Pacific in Stockton. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a self-employed dairyman for 15 years before becoming a salesman for the A.L. Gilbert Company where he worked for more than 30 years. Clayton was a 16-year member of the Oakdale School Board, a more than 50-year member of the Potluck Group'', and a member of the Oakdale Supper Club, among other affiliations. Family was so very important to Clayton. He cherished and loved his wife, children and grandchildren, his sister, and his extended Dutch family. His friends were countless and he drew them together with the numerous vacations, bus trips and events he planned. Always the entertainer, Clayton was a good cook who planned dinners at home and at the family cabin. A nice glass of wine and a good meal shared with those he loved brought him much joy. He always thought of others before himself and was generous in reaching out to those he knew who were alone, ill, or who had lost loved ones. He taught his children by his example the importance of a strong work ethic, responsibility and honesty. He will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Aty (Dykzeul) Coleman; his four children: Marc (Veronica) Coleman of Hilmar, Jeff (Lori) Coleman of Turlock, Kelly (Tom) Kisabeth of Napa, and Carrie (David) Dollar of El Dorado Hills; eight grand- children; and his sister, Betty Clark of Sacramento. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Fri., November 28th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oak and Olive Streets in Oakdale. A Mass of Christian Burial will also be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 9 a.m. on Sat., November 29th. Oakdale Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Assn., 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, CA 94010 or St. Mary's Helping Hand, P.O. Box 970, Oakdale, CA 95361.www.modbee.com/obituaries

THE HOLIDAY SEASON HAS ARRIVED !!!!!!

Thanksgiving Feasting
When the Halloween pumpkins are gone,
And the leaves have all fallen to ground,
When the air has turned windy and cold,
Then Thanksgiving will soon be around.
Thoughts of loved ones all feasting together,
Pleasant pictures from past times appear
To dwell in each heart and each mind--
Then Thanksgiving is finally here!
The kitchen has scrumptious aromas,
The dining room looks oh, so fine,
Decorations with pilgrims and turkeys,
And now we are ready to dine!
First the napkins are placed on our laps;
Now the prayer for the meal to be blessed,
Then we stuff the good food in our tummies,
And we hope for it all to digest!
ENJOY------and HAPPY THANKSGIVING .From--- F.D.S.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO MICHAEL C.

FROM UNCLE JOHN AND AUNTIE MARGE

Back to Memorial for a 3 day stay!

About 11:30 Saturday night -  off to the ER with John to get blood clots flushed out by an incompetent nurse. Two hours later back home only to return again to the ER at 5:30 am.  This time he was admitted to the hospital and his urologist did the procedure correctly.

Well, maybe this time John will follow the doctor's orders.  Think not though!
Was home for a couple of hours and then he was off to VSI---though he only stayed long enough to get ready for a board meeting tomorrow.  Hard to feel sorry for him!!!!
