John and I just returned from a Pet convention in Indian Wells/Palm Springs.  Took a jeep tour one afternoon into the desert and drove along the San Andreas Fault line.  One passenger was quite worried that an earthquake would happen while our jeep was traveling across the rocky terrain. ( She was not from California)  It was amazing to see the uplifting of the clay soil mixed with granite rocks to form mountains all around us.  Have never been on such a treacherous jeep ride. Below is also a picture of one section of the Miramonte Hotel - our room was through the arch of the Bellagio section.
