Bryan Scheubers

It was so good to see Bryan, Tammy, Teal and Garrett.  Teal and Garrett are  such adorable, outgoing children. We so enjoyed their visit. Thanks to Teal for entertaining us with her beautiful piano pieces.   Uncle John and Auntie Marge

Catching up...

Auntie Fran, I've been traveling a bit so I am just now getting caught up on the AI. Bowersox by far is the lead candidate! That Lee Dweezel was pretty good this week too. Still have to go back and watch last weeks episode to be a full authority. Whew, Lakers in the playoffs, AI winding down...these are exciting times. :)

The Nugget and more

john ascuagas nugget hotel

We just returned from the Danish Convention in Reno.  It was held at Johnny Ascuaga's Nugget. We golfed on Thursday enjoying the welcomed sunshine. Friday night I had a lucky streak for I won $173 on the slots.  Saturday, my sis and I were walking back to our rooms and noticed this old man getting his cowboy boots polished.  My sis said she thought it was Johnny Ascuaga.  I asked him and sure enough it was him.  So friendly!  He noticed our Danish name tags and said, " You two look like Danes!"  Later in the evening John said that he had met him at the restaurant earlier and they talked about his cattle. Here I thought the old cowboy had passed on to greener pastures.

Thanks to Kuno and Tanya for showing Jamie a good time in Switzerland.

Glad the E. P. Scheubers had a grand time at Pismo.  ( one of our favorite places)  What fun for Karyn and Lori to revisit Cal Poly!  We often do that too when we stay at Pismo.

Jamie on his way home

Dear Scheubers
Jamie will get on his way back from Switzerland today.
We met two times, he stayed with Frox a few nights and also with
Tanja and I think he and Tim had a good time here.
The major things he got to see - next time he has to come in the
summer for those activities.
But watch out on him now: he has a Swiss Army knife with a sharp
blade :-)

Pismo Beach Break

Hello to all!

The kids and I, minus one “under-a-deadline” Dad, enjoyed Easter Break in Pismo Beach!  We stayed with Mom and Dad in their RV at Pismo Coast Village.  Our next door neighbors were the Steve Scheuber family, and Karyn and her kids came down for three days, too!  It was an E.P. Scheuber reunion!

The temps mid-week were in the 70’s and beautiful.  Several other families we know were also parked in the “neighborhood” so we barbecued, enjoyed each others company, watched the kids have a great time, and visited a lot.  There was food galore, way too much, and lots of laughing and talking around the campfire.

Karyn and I and our kids toured Cal Poly to relive all of our great college days.  Nicolaus is thinking of studying Biology so we visited the Bio Department to check things out.  Anne is still reeling from the lack of a Speech Therapy major, as Cal Poly has always been her destination school of choice!  I think Martin is still holding out for UC Davis … Jeff and Uncle Pius would be proud!

Now it’s back to the grind of school and the daily routine.

Lots of love,

Lori

New Orleans

Sandi and I just got back from New Orleans on Friday night.  What a great time!  Can't believe that I can still walk.
We were out every day for 12 hours seeing all the sights. The streetcar came right in front of our B & B so that was our mode of transportation.  We talked with so many nice people from all over: Germany, England, different states and the local folks.  Sandi helped out these German fellows understand the streetcar instructions. We witnessed the streetcar that we were to ride run into a car.  So we had to wait for an hour to get going again. Sandi and this young German man talked for most of that time. Of course they talked about Switzerland.  He said he was glad to be able to practice his English.                  Sandi's mom

Your F.B.I. ----Aunt

AI Time!

Auntie Fran, gotta agree with you on those top three! I don't really care for the Casey dude, but he was probably the best last night. And, yes Lee? was really good until that freaky bag pipe player showed up! (did you hear Ellen say..."it was great til that bagpiper who got seperated from his parade showed up") Hilarious. I still like crazy Siobhan too. I say Aaron or Andrew are out. We'll see!

Any early predictions on the overall winner?
G.

A.I. ---My Comments !!!!!

Crying Girl Gone!!!!!!!!

Great, I told Uncle Bill she will be out of here this evening, got that one right.
Siobhan Magnus---20yrs old, from my favorite place on the east coast(Cape Cod, Mass)  She has the voice but her personality needs warming up.
Judge---(Kara Dioguardi) we could do with out her, i like Randy Jackson & Ellen good match.
Geoff, I am your immature senior citizen Aunt,i will never miss watching the t.v.show (24) your Uncle Bill can't understand this--- but what the heck, he does watch A I.
We have very interesting weeks coming, keep watching & listening.
Auntie Fran

AI Update: Crying Girl Gone

No worries...what's her mug with the tears is adios!
Yeah, Michael Lynch is good...I still like the nutbag Siobhan?
You're right not so great this year. Simon's leaving, so they're grooming that obnoxious female judge, not Ellen the other one, to take his critical opinion role. Its very contrived. Overall kinda boring this year really, but I still watch. My girls think I'm immature, I am.
