The JR Scheubers trip to Canada

We had a great trip to Canada along with my sister and husband, and her cousin and husband from Blue Lake CA.  We landed in Buffalo, rented a 8 passenger SUV and drove to Belleville (near Toronto) the first night.  We met our Irish cousins there (for the first time) the next morning and visited with them the first day and then followed them for a 7 hour trip the next day to Quebec area.  We met 3 other families of relatives there in Breakeyville.  We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast there  close to the relatives.  They had all six of us over for dinner and then down into their basement playroom where we sang Karoke (sp?) the rest of the evening.  My cousin Lynn has a beautiful voice.  ( She only speaks french but sings beautifully in English) She was thrilled that John sand duets with her.  She said she wished that we could stay longer so he could cut a CD with her.  She was impressed by his doobie doobie do impersonation of Dean Martin.  What a laugh!   We spent the next day driving to Frampton where my ancestors came to from Ireland.  The home of my great great grandfather Moses is still standing.  We were able to tour the inside and get pictures. It is used by a couple who uses it for a summer home.  It still has no running water or electricity. It is situated in a beautiful setting way back in the country hills (it must have reminded them of Ireland ) My sister said she expected Julie Andrews to come over the hill singing, The Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music",but I reminded her that that scene took place in SWITZERLAND . My grandfather Moses was one of 11 children raised there.  7 of those children moved away from Canada to escape the harsh winters and find new land to farm.  We were finally meeting the descendants of the ones who stayed in Canada.  We visited the graves of our ancestors and the Catholic church they attended in the little village of Frampton.  On the way back to Buffalo we spent time in Niagara Falls. John and I had been there about 15 years ago but still marvel at the fantastic sight of those gigantic falls.  We are so glad we decided to take this trip.  We owe the thanks to the cousin who contacted us 3 years ago from Canada as he was searching for relatives to complete the family tree of Jordans.
