Getting older

Well, some of the JR Scheuber males are getting older.  We just celebrated Ben’s 13th birthday and Matt’s 18th.  Who can believe it?  Both are getting into the music scene.  Ben is doing great at the piano and is now picking up guitar.  Matt plays guitar and has his own band.  Check out his band “Hattie Carroll” (named after a Bob Dylan song) at their website http://www.myspace.com/hattiecarroll  You can even listen to some of their songs.

The cool thing is Matt and I are collaborating on some music for my next dance.  Now, I know time has passed since I first tried to teach a little 4-year old Matt how to do an arabesque.  I think this career path is more to his liking!

''FOR ALL TO ENJOY''

Monday, March 06, 2006

Thanks Auntie Fran!

Hello to all,

We weren't aware Anne had made the Turlock Journal so, needless to say, Auntie Fran's find was exciting news!   The news piece brought back to mind a comment Uncle Jim had made to Anne at the Fourth of July -- he said something to the affect that, now that she was beginning high school, he hoped he'd be reading about her in the newspaper!  I guess we'll have to get him a Turlock Journal subscription!!

Lots of love,
Lori

The Merced Junior College softball team, which boasts four starters from the 2004 Turlock High School graduating class is currently 9-4 thanks in part to the leadership of former THS Bulldog Aja Scheuber.

Scheuber is currently the top starting pitcher and top hitter at Merced JC.

Last season, Scheuber was selected as a Central Valley Conference All-League player and she made the All-Northern California team.

She was recently selected to the USA Athletes International All-Star team that is traveling to Aruba to play in a seven-day international tournamentfrom July 26 through August 2.

Lois Kirk, a centerfielder for Merced JC and a product of Atwater High SChool and Scheuber were both selected to the USA International team. Scheuber and four of her teammates, Chelsea Pedretti 3B, Sandra Pulido 2B, Tiffany Waterson 1B and Alexis Vierra RF all came out of the THS graduating class of 2004.
