An Over the Hill birthday party

On Aug. 12, we celebrated my sister's 65Th birthday with a surprise party held at the Eagles Hall.  It was a great celebration with Olsen/Stowers family and friends(about 70 people)  First time we have had 4 generations of Olsen clan together at one time (aside from family funerals) for many years.  Of course it was picture time for all the cousins: My uncle (only living uncle), My cousins, Scheuber/Stowers cousins ,and 4th generation of  Ann's and my grand kids.  That was a chore getting 15 kids to stand still together for a picture. Especially the 2 yr olds. Missing that day were Ben, Matt and Zac. They missed out on a grand time!

Max hired a DJ and all 4 generations got out and danced.  Even Callie, Riley and Taylor were rock and rolling to the beat of the 50's  60's music. Since Haley and Sidney were going home with Aunt Sandi, they wanted to leave early, but that all changed when the music started.  Hayley said, "Grandma, this is my kind of music!"  The Eagles Hall is one of only a few dance floors around that spring up and down when you dance.  The kids loved that!   This hall was quite popular during prohibition.  On a wall inside  there is a  newspaper article and  pictures of the tunnels that led out of the hall underground to escape from the police. The bar is in the center of the hall which can be completely closed off as to conceal it from the rest of the hall rooms. It is like going back in time when you step in as you are immediately in front of the old-fashioned coat check in closet.   Course I wasn't alive during prohibition!!  olemarge

The young travelers were received by Grandma Margaret and Grandpa Leo at the Sacramento Airport where they were then whisked away to lunch with Uncle Mike and cousin McKenzee.

Sheridan is Wyoming's Golf Capitol
Sheridan is the Golf Capitol of Wyoming! The area’s four mountain-view championship courses offer fantastic and reasonably-priced golf within a 35 mile drive of this warm and bustling community:

The Powder Horn offers a 27-hole championship course, rated in GolfWeek's top 100 in the nation! Its natural beauty features the Mountain Nine resembling a Scottish links course, the Stag Nine target golf with an Old West flavor, and the Eagle Nine’s surprising length and creative shot-making opportunities. The 2005 grand opening of a multi-million dollar golf club house, serves your golf, dining and other relaxation needs.

Kendrick Golf Course, established in 1935, is rated in the top 5 courses in Wyoming by Golf Digest magazine. Located just 3 miles west of town, the 18 holes, 6,800 yards and par 72 course offers premiere golf and practice facilities for every level of play. Kendrick has a fully-stocked pro shop and restaurant, and provides private lessons from a PGA golf instructor.

Located within the city limits, Sheridan Country Club, offers nine greens with separate tee boxes for 18 hole play. Big Horn Mountain vistas are viewed from every hole, with a pro shop and restaurant filling out course amenities.

And located just 35 miles down the road is the Buffalo Golf Club. Fun to play, at the base of the Big Horns, with mature, tree-lined fairways, and lots of up and down play.

Sidney is actually spelled Sydney ( just like Sydney, Australia)
