First I must dispel another of Uncle Bill's stories
This is one we all have heard. Getting up at 4am every moring to milk the
cows, then walking 10 miles to school in the snow, uphill both ways in
hand-me-down shoes from older brother Pius two sizes too small, only to come
home and milk the cows again........Well, the planet earth must have been
spinning slower on its axis back then to fit in 34 hours in day. Second,
outside of an occaisional hail storm I have never seen snow here, third
Fairview school must have been located somewhere just east of Waterford and
just west of Dodge Ridge, and finally Pius was the older brother so unless
he had really small feet the shoes would have been too big, not too small.
