War effort sent befor but didn`t go

Thinking to help with the war effort [ww II ] we hitched  the horses to the hay wagon.  and went from one farm to an other to pick up old plows tires rubber bootsor any old car parts, wht ever.  We went out after school and saturdays.  We found a wash tub full of alarm clocks, so each one of us grabbed one and took out the mechanizum and learned how to make them ring. Well this go to point whereh we were paying more attention  to the clocks than to the teacher.      The teacher made us leave them on the back table during class.  Well we al got together and set our clocks to different times so the y would go off  to disrupt  the class every few minutes. Who`s ever clock went off had to get up and turn off the alarm. One of the best toys I ever had.  We got them at "mud hens " house. Thats another story.  THE WAR ENDED AND THE PILE OF JUNK WAS STILL IN THE SCHOOL YARD.      Uncle Bill
