  Thinking to have some fun one day,we , the boys at Fairview school,Decided to dig a cave behind the back stop.We brought some shovels to school and comenced to dig. The teacher was kept away from the back stop for a couple of days while the digging was going on. Once we got the hole as deep and large enough, We stole the Presto families` peach tree props and some heaver boards, to build a roof over the cave, then put he dirt over the boards so the teacher couldn`t see what we had done. We then dug a tunnel to the other side of the school property line ,on the Presto side. We could crawl in and be comfortable.  One day it was very cold and the teacher Got to school late, so the doors were locked and the heat had not been turned on. We decided to take things in our own hands, so we built a fire in the cave to keep warm. Not thinkins the teacher would see the smoke. Well she did, and we got found out. She start yelling at us to get ou of the cave .  by this time the cave was full of smoke and we were all choking. When the guys start crawling out of the tunnel the smoke had no place to go so it filled up the cave.Every one was trying to get to fresh air. I being the smallest kept gettin pushed out of the way, so was the last one out. and I was really gasping for air when I finally got out, and had a head acke the rest of the day.  Needles to say, that was the end of the cave and the peach tree props were returned to the Prestos      Uncle Bill
