Winning Weekend

Ok, you all might be tired of hearing this...but I just gotta tell someone! Lauren's team played an old nemesis last night (last year's assistant coach), and had their hands (feet) full! You sports fans know the feeling...every play, every kick, every move was intense. The other team had this super-tall girl (5' 6") that could score from 20 yards out, and she did repeatedly...right up until that last quarter. DOWN 3-2 going into the 4th....the Lightning would be tested.

Little Tatiana, whom I've gushed about before, the little forward that can handle the ball like someone of much greater years (she's barely 10), put the team on her small shoulders in that 4th quarter getting two immediate goals as the clock had barely started. Amazingly quick, she manuevered down the field at the opening kickoff and tied it. The very next series put the game away...(Here comes the really cool part)....it was a looping-laser-pin-point pass by Lauren Scheuber from her fullback position that hit Tatiana in full stride...all that you could see from there was the back of the net stretching out to stop her shot. The goalie never saw it. Needless to say the ol' wind came out of the sails of the other guys real fast. Still can't believe that comeback.

Thanks for letting me share this...am still Proud Papa Geoff!

Happy Halloween
