Uncle Ernie's Progress
Good Morning Everyone!
Dad had a very successful surgery yesterday. It lasted just under four hours and the doctor said he came through beautifully. Dr. Hsu predicted from 80-90% leg pain relief, and a bit more back relief than he had hoped -- which is icing on the cake! The doctor couldn't believe Dad's resilience to the pain he had endured, considering the condition of the spine and nerves he observed during surgery.
Last night was very restful for Dad, and if everything continues on this course he should be moved out of ICU to the surgical floor. Today they will be getting him up for his first "jog".
