SOUNDS LIKE: The indie-alternative band's influences include Wilco, Built to Spill, Pavement, Tom Waits, The Strokes, Modest Mouse, Pearl Jam and more.
BACKSTORY: The band formed in late 2007 and has been writing and recording since. In January, the group began playing shows in the Modesto and San Francisco Bay areas. Trees & Vines will play the Central Valley Indie Fest's closing show Saturday.

NEW MUSIC: Trees & Vines has a six-song EP available and will go back to the studio next month to record new material for release in June.
NEXT GIG: Shows 7 p.m. Saturday at Banana Joe's in Modesto (Indie Fest closing show) and two shows June 21 -- noon at the Turlock Relay for Life and 8 p.m. at Riverbank's Queen Bean Coffee House, with Circles & Circles.
