3 in Fresno softball contest hail from Stanislaus District / By KELLY JONES

There was a softball reunion of sorts for three Stanislaus District products in Fresno on Wednesday.
Davis High's Lauren Clark and Ceres' Heidi Eisenbeis play for St. Mary's College, which split a doubleheader with No. 9 Fresno State and Bulldogs designated hitter Aja Scheuber of Turlock. The trio played against each other in high school and travel ball.
Clark singled in the opener, a 5-0 Fresno State victory in which Scheuber delivered an RBI single. Scheuber went 2 for 4 and scored a run in the second game, but St. Mary's prevailed 4-3, the first time a Gaels team has defeated a top 10-ranked opponent.
Clark was hit by a pitch in the third inning of the second game and was eventually stranded at third base. Eisenbeis did not play.
Clark is hitting .281 and leads the Gaels with 11 doubles. St. Mary's (25-23) plays host to Loyola Marymount in a doubleheader today that will decide the Pacific Coast Softball Championship, along with determining which team will earn the automatic spot into the NCAA Tournament.
Scheuber is hitting .346 and is second on the team with 37 RBIs. Fresno State (46-9) plays host to New Mexico State in its final Western Athletic Conference series this afternoon. The WAC tournament begins Wednesday in Hawaii.
BULLDOGS---- Have a safe trip to Hawaii and a great tournament, from GRANDMA FRAN.
