Grandpa Scheuber, If your up there reading this blog site, I bet you are getting a kick out of these old articles showing up after all of these years.  Your grandkids can get some proof that their dads and mom (can't leave out Anita) were telling the truth about their dad being such a popular guy in the Swiss community.  olemarge
 
                             TAGLIO IS FIRST ON RIFLE SQUAD 
         Bill Scheuber And Paul Rupf Are Tied For Second On Swiss Club
      Team positions and scores of the Swiss Rifle Club in the Winter Rifle Club in the Winter Rifle League were announced Wednesday.
    Lous P. Taglio, who placed sixth in the Winter Rifle League, was high on the Swiss Rifle Club's final seasonal scoring with a total of 1,781 points.  Bill Scheuber and Paul Rupf tied for second with a total of 1, 7333 points.  Louis Burch and Carl Sieber with 1,751 and 1,695 respectively, placed in the first five.
     The Swiss Club dropped three matches in teh Winter League, finishing third.  The Turlock Civilians defeated the Turlock National Guard, las year's champions, for the Winter Rifle League title.
                                                    Two Qualify
Scheuber and Taglio qualified for the California State rifle shoot in Antioch, which will be held in the future.  Burch and Rupf were named as alternates.
     The ten high shooters for the yeare are Taglio, Scheuber, Burch, Rupf, Carl Sieber, John Bucher, Arnold Sieber, Joe Ott, Henry Engler and Martin Grischott.
     The teams which completed in the Winter Rifle League were the Turlock Civilians and the Turlock National Guard, the Modesto Junior College Rifle team and the Modesto Rifle team and the Swiss Club.
