In my genealogy searches I came across old Modesto Bee newspapers. This article below is one from the Modesto Bee in 12/4/1934. Since the print is light I am going to retype this. Nothing will be changed. William Scheuber Is Named Head Of County Swiss Club William Scheuber has been elected president of the Stanislaus County Swiss Club to suceed M. F. Varozza, who resigned at a meeting in Yori's Grove Sunday. Scheuber is the first Swiss-German to hold the position of president since the club was organized. A committee consisting of John Bucher, Scheuber, and Louis Taglio was appointed to construct an indoor rifle range and ascertain how many members are interested in joining a shooting club. Several matches are planned for the winter. |
