remodeling of SOS
Around 1964 my uncles (two men on the right - Alvin and Glenn Olsen) remodeled the SOS club. Here they are going over the plans- an article with this picture appeared in the Modesto Bee. Just talked to my Uncle Alvin who is 85 yrs old now- the only uncle that I have left and he filled me in out the greatness of Tom Mellis. He said Tom Mellis was not an athlete himself but kept up on all the great athletes and promoted sports with his enthusiasm and his charity works. So fitting that they have a scholorship in his name.
