FRESNO, Calif. - After being a Fresno State student-athlete for the last three years, Aja Scheuber will remain a part of Fresno State athletics, this time in a role of a volunteer assistant coach for the Bulldog women's lacrosse program.
Scheuber spent her first two years playing for the Fresno State softball program and this past year was a member of the first-ever women's lacrosse team where she played in all 14 games, starting 13. She scored five goals as a low-attacker.
"It is great to have Aja step-up and volunteer her time as an assistant coach on our staff," Fresno State coach Sue Behme said. "Following our 2009 season she volunteered as a student-assistant during our last two weeks of training. I believe this helped both Aja and her teammates with the transition from her being a teammate to her new role as an assistant coach. She will do a great job assisting Carlee with our team offense as well as helping our player's push themselves outside their comfort zone in our weight training sessions."
Scheuber played for coach Margie Wright and the Bulldog softball team in 2007 and 2008. She was a two-time Academic-WAC selection and was named to the 2008 ESPN Academic All-American Team, the NCAA West Regional Team and the Fresno Regional All-Tournament team.
Enjoy---- From proud Grandma Fran.
