Scheubers for Life - Relay is this Saturday!

This Saturday is the Modesto Relay for Life at Johansen High School track.  Our Scheubers for Life team will be there in support and honor of dozens of family and friends whose lives have been touched by cancer.  Our team is on it's way to becoming a Gold Team based on our fundraising efforts (almost $5,000).  Sarah, Geoff, and Sandi have been hitting the pavement and internet hard for donations.  Sandi is currently in 2nd place for online fundraising for the Modesto event with Geoff closing in (currently in 5th).  Sarah has done most of her fundraising offline.  Come out Saturday and support our team.  We will be there from 9am Saturday until the cowbell-ringing lap on Sunday at 9am.  You should see us!  We make quite a statement with our cowbells, Swiss and American flags, and our unique custom-designed shirts.  This year's shirts were designed by Erin Scheuber.  Come out and support or, better yet, join our team.  It's a great cause and doubles as a family reunion.

regarding: old timers

Sandi,  thanks for reminding me.  Yes, now I do remember how impressed I was at seeing  and talking to the lovely young ladies Erin and Lauren.  Yes, it could be the old timers, but now they tease us at the oncology dept of having chemo brain.  So I would rather blame it on the chemo brain.  Should have remembered since there were many Scheubers missing that night.  I do remember that.   Recently, I asked my sister where an aunt was buried at Lakewood Cemetery.  Immediately, but too late to retract my words, I knew she was still alive at 94 years old.   Sure made my sister laugh at me.   I even went to  Aunt Mabel  at the rest home during Christmas time.

CHEMO BRAIN
Note that this information is about adults with cancer.

For many years cancer survivors have worried about, joked about, and been frustrated with the mental cloudiness they notice before, during, and after chemotherapy. Even though its exact cause isn't always known, this mental fog is commonly called "chemo brain." Patients have been aware of chemo brain for some time, but only recently have studies been done that could start to explain it.

Old Timer's Disease?

I don't know where my Mom was at Christmas (or if Old Timer's is setting in), but I know you were there, Geoff and family!

Always,

re Big Eleven

Geoff,  Like your idea of putting the Big Eleven on the back of the shirts.  Looking forward to seeing the Southern California Scheubers at the Relay, especially since we missed your presence at Christmas.   Auntie Marge
